A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is a registered nurse who specializes in psychiatry and mental health treatment. PMHNPs hold a graduate-level education with specialized training in the mental-health needs of patients of all ages.
We can assess, diagnose, and treat mental illnesses, disorders, and substance-use concerns — and we prescribe and manage medication.
