Medication management
for mental health.

My focus extends beyond symptom management to fostering a collaborative, supportive therapeutic relationship — a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can openly express their concerns, and together, we work toward mental health resilience.

About your provider

Nikki Ruoss,
APRN, PMHNP-BC.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Mason, Ohio.

A psychiatric nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of nursing experience — and a deep commitment to the people I care for.

“I wanted to be back at the bedside.”

My journey in nursing began in the fast-paced environment of a Los Angeles emergency room, where I served as a clinical supervisor. After years of working to climb the career ladder in hospital administration, I realized I missed working directly with patients — and wanted to fill the gap I saw in psychiatric care.

That realization prompted me to pursue a career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Nursing has provided me with a unique life-learning environment, and I am deeply committed to the nursing process and caring theory.

My goal is to provide personalized, evidence-based treatments that prioritize each patient's unique needs — and to actively contribute to reducing the stigma of mental illness. Creating meaningful, therapeutic relationships with patients is at the core of my practice.

Outside the office

Roots in California,
home in Ohio.

I was born in Cincinnati but lived most of my life in California. I'm excited to be back in Ohio and reconnect with my family. I live with my husband and two dogs, and enjoy a more rural lifestyle — vegetable gardening and watching the bald eagles near my home.

I have five children who live all over the world — North Carolina, Colorado, California, and Australia.

Welcoming lounge area at Thinking Therapeutics

Our Lounge

Warmth and comfort from the moment you arrive.

Our patient lounge is intentionally designed to feel less like a clinic and more like a place to exhale — a quiet, welcoming setting where you can settle in before or after care.

What working together looks like.

Care begins with an in-depth conversation. I take time to understand your history, your goals, and the context of your life — then we build a treatment plan together.

I believe that mental well-being is a fundamental aspect of overall health. Through empathy and commitment, my goal is to contribute positively to the mental health landscape — to inspire hope, facilitate healing, and enhance quality of life.
